How To Repressurise Boilers

How To Repressurise Your Boiler

Locate the boiler filling loop. This is a silver connection between the mains and the central heating circuit. Most filling loops have 1 or 2 black handles either end and are connected by a silver flexible hose. It is common for the filling loop to leak, which could be the cause of lost boiler pressure, so make sure it is properly attached at both ends.

Turn the handles anti clockwise until both handles are in line with the valves, you should now hear water entering the heating system.

Watch the pressure gauge as you do this. You should be able to see the pressure gauge rising. It is important not to over pressurise the heating system. We recommend between 1.2 bar and 1.5 bar.

Ensure you have fully closed the filling valves, again it is important to make sure that they are fully off or you risk slowly over pressurising the boiler.
